Cooperative members supported by H360 open Itaú bank accounts in Maranhão
Access to a bank account is a fundamental part of the social reintegration process of imprisoned people, guaranteeing more autonomy for those deprived of liberty. On March 14, an important step in this direction was taken for 15 women who are part of the cooperative created by the Humanitas360 Institute in the Women’s Prison Unit of the Pedrinhas Complex, in São Luís, Maranhão. Now, they have Itaú bank accounts.
With the initiative, the cooperative members, who produce craft items sold by the Tereza brand, will be able to receive remuneration for their work and deposit it in their personal accounts.
