TV Globo’s Jornal Nacional highlights H360’s Hemp advocacy at Venice Biennale of Architecture

In its July 12 edition, Jornal Nacional on TV Globo — Brazil’s leading television newscast — featured the participation of the Humanitas360 Institute at the Venice Biennale of Architecture, which this year explores the relationship between how we build and addressing the climate emergency. The report by Ilze Scamparini showcased the historic relationship between the Italian city and hemp, reflected in the installation with hempcrete panels created by H360, which tells the story of humanity’s millennia-old use of this plant.

In an interview, historian and Humanitas360 board member Fabiana Ferreira Lopes commented: “In general, we always think about the future of planet Earth, of humanity, in a very tragic way. And I think this Biennale brings another perspective, that there are already technologies for us to change that future, but also ancestral technologies.”

Ancestral Innovation: Hemp, Sustainability and the Future of Architecture” marks the 10th anniversary celebrations of Instituto Humanitas360 and is carried out in partnership with the Ficus Institute and architects Pedro Mendes da Rocha and Chico Gitahy. The current edition of the Biennale, entitled “IntelliGens”, is curated by Carlo Ratti and runs until November 23, 2025.
