LGT Guide to Strategic Philanthropy is launched in Brazil with support from H360
On April 11th, the Humanitas360 Institute, represented by its president Patrícia Villela Marino and board member Ricardo Villela Marino, hosted the Brazilian launch of LGT Private Banking’s Guide to Strategic Philanthropy. Held at CIVI-CO, in São Paulo, the event was attended by H.S.H. Prince Max von und zu Liechtenstein, president of LGT and founder of LGT Venture Philanthropy.
The document opens with a foreword signed by Prince Max, who argues: “The rationale and need for philanthropic engagement are greater today than ever. With environmental threats reaching unprecedented levels and social polarization increasing in many parts of the world, the urgency to take action is growing. As governments struggle to address global challenges and wealth concentration increases, wealthy families have a growing responsibility to engage and show leadership.”
Originally published in English and produced in partnership with Philanthropy Insight (Pi), the Guide is designed to encourage a culture of giving around the world and brings together testimonials from more than 30 people from different countries and fields of endeavor, including Brazilian businessman Elie Horn, American actor Matt Damon, and Zimbabwean social entrepreneur Tsitsi Masiyiwa.
The content of the Guide is divided into four chapters, detailing how individuals and families can structure their philanthropic journeys, from recognizing the motivations, causes, and values that drive them to defining the eight steps necessary to generate the desired impact.
