On Tuesday morning (9), the 5th and final meeting of 2025 of the Parliamentary Front on Medicinal Cannabis and Industrial Hemp—an initiative of the São Paulo State Legislative Assembly supported by Humanitas360 Institute and Ficus Institute—took place. Aimed at expanding dialogue with society, the hearing was held at the CIVI-CO social impact hub auditorium.

During the event, the winning projects of the 3rd Amendment Grant were announced, made possible by state representatives Caio França and Eduardo Suplicy, coordinator and vice-coordinator of the parliamentary front, respectively. The announcement was made by the legislators alongside Ficus Institute president Bruno Pegoraro and gynecologist-obstetrician Dr. Mariana Prado, a member of the Brazilian Society for the Study of Cannabis Sativa (SBEC).

The grant awarded research projects and programs from nonprofit organizations (such as Turma do Bem and Associação Psicocannabis), the municipalities of Pereira Barreto and Peruíbe, and São Paulo public universities, including USP (through InCor – Heart Institute of the Hospital das Clínicas), UFSCar, and Unesp campuses in Botucatu and Ilha Solteira. The selection was made by the parliamentary front’s Deliberative Council, comprised of physicians, pharmacists, researchers, and experts on the subject.

The positive social and environmental impact ecosystem of H360, Ficus, and CIVI-CO was fully represented with the participation of social business Tereza, which created the natural Hemp fabric toiletry bags given to the winners, and its CEO, Flavia Maria da Silva, who spoke at the event’s opening.
