President of H360 takes office at the Sustainable Social Economic Development Council, recreated by the Federal Government
The president of the Humanitas360 Institute, Patrícia Villela Marino, took office on May 4th among the 246 members of the Sustainable Social Economic Development Council (CDESS), known as “Conselhão”. Created in 2003 and extinguished in 2019, the space intended to discuss agendas and themes from different sectors of society was recreated by President Luís Inácio Lula da Silva, who participated in the inauguration ceremony, held at the Itamaraty Palace, in Brasília.
Compared to the previous format, the new “Conselhão” adds the issue of sustainability, which will be discussed alongside economic and social issues among newly sworn-in members, who include businessmen, activists, intellectuals and artists. The board members – who serve voluntarily and without remuneration – will be divided into thematic groups to deal with their areas of expertise. The collegiate will be coordinated by Alexandre Padilha, Minister of Institutional Relations.
In a column for the Poder360 website, journalist Anita Krepp highlights, among the members, the presence of names linked to the defense of medical cannabis, such as businesswoman Viviane Sedola, physician Claudio Lottenberg and the president of H360, Patrícia Villela Marino. “Marino has for years played an important role in reforming drug policy, in addition to supporting several startups in the cannabis sector through the CIVI-CO community, of which she is a founder,” she writes.
