Women’s Month: The Impact of H360 and Tereza’s Work in Numbers
At the end of the special program for Women’s Month, the Humanitas360 Institute and the social business Tereza presented some figures on the work carried out with imprisoned women and those released from the prison system. With the implementation of the first social cooperative in São Paulo, in 2018, H360 began a journey to promote citizenship for hundreds of women.
In classes and workshops, they learned to sew, embroider and crochet, in addition to receiving multidisciplinary care, which includes social assistance and psychological support. The Entrepreneurship Behind and Beyond Bars project expanded and, thanks to agreements signed with the Public Power and the National Council of Justice, also reached the state of Maranhão.
From the experience with social cooperatives, the Tereza brand emerged, which in 2023 was transformed into an independent business, which does not aim for profit and aims to give the opportunity for a new life to women who have left prison. Guiding this work of both organizations is the conviction that everyone deserves a second chance, with autonomy and away from crime.
