H360 expands and opens another social cooperative in Peruíbe after technical cooperation agreement with Peruíbe’s Second Court “Somos Marias” project

The Humanitas360 Institute and the Second Judicial Court of the District of Peruíbe will soon open “Casa das Marias”, a space for refuge, technical, assistance, legal and psychological support for women in vulnerable situations, incarcerated and victims of violence. The cooperation agreement was signed with the Second Judicial Court of the District of Peruíbe in June and the works are in the final stage, with inauguration scheduled for October.

The “Somos Marias” project was an initiative of the Judge Danielle Camara Takahashi Cosentino Grandinetti from Peruibe District and has as its line of action the fight against all forms of domestic violence, working on the prevention and supervision of protective measures in favor of victims, as well as courses and lectures. Along with “Somos Marias” is the program “João de Barro” that has reflexive groups so that aggressors do not repeat their violent acts.

In 2021, the Somos Marias project won in the Magistrate category, together with the Humanitas360 Institute in the Civil Society category, the #Rompa award, organized by State of São Paulo the Court of Justice of the. This partnership between H360 and Somos Marias started from the possibility of joining assistance to the stimulus of entrepreneurship, with the implementation of another social cooperative that follows Humanitas360 Institute principles. A joined effort to share experiences of social cooperativeism throughout Brazil.

The project of social cooperatives aims at social reintegration the incarcerated and formerly incarcerated population, currently with units in Maranhão and São Paulo. Humanitas360 Instituted is the sole investor of this project, including infrastructure, machinery, inputs, and training. Profit from production is passed on in full to the cooperative members.
