UN opens the doors to discuss the cannabis market with the participation of Patricia Villela Marino
The president of the Humanitas360 Institute, Patrícia Villela Marino, participates this Thursday (5) in New York City in Regenerative Cannabis Live. The event aims to discuss how the legal cannabis industry will support the major social and environmental changes proposed by Agenda 2030, the United Nations Organizations. (UN) global action plan for sustainable development.
The only Brazilian leader among the panelists, she will participate in the second panel of the day on how the cannabis market can boost a regenerative society, in search of diversity, equity and inclusion. Activist, philanthropist and articulator of the cannabis agenda in Brazil since 2012, Patrícia was the executive producer of the 2014 documentary “Ilegal”. Directed by Tarso Araújo and Raphael Erichsen, the film is now a reference in the sector.
“The Brazilian society, especially the public agents must understand that cannabis is a public agenda of health, income, institutional and scientific development”, defends Patrícia. “We have already wasted too much time. It’s time to act now!
The Latin American group attending the event includes, among others, Alex Lucena, partner and Director of Innovation for The Green Hub accelerator; Mizael Silva, Ecosystem Innovation Leader for Latin America, Merck Life Science; Argentine Gastón Morales, President of Cannava; Marcelo Demp, President of the Industrial Hemp Chamber in Paraguay.
Regenerative Cannabis Live is organized by Regennabis Consultancy. In 2021, Patrick Mccartan, the company’s CEO, was in Brazil to participate in Cannabis Thinking, an event held annually by The Green Hub. During the seminar, McCartan provoked the audience to the impacts of the cannabis market for regenerative development, especially in countries where the industrial and medical use of the plant is still prohibited, he also emphasized how crucial it is for Latin America to unite for the advancement of this agenda.
