H360 meets with president of the Maranhão Court of Justice
In early November, the president of Humanitas360, Patrícia Villela Marino, and the institute’s director, Higor Cauê, traveled to São Luís, where they met with Judge Paulo Velten, president of the Maranhão Court of Justice. The three of them discussed the partnership signed in 2020, which enabled the implementation of the LAB360 project and the Cuxá Social Cooperative, supporting inmates and former inmates of the state prison system in the areas of education and income generation.
According to Higor Cauê, the meeting reaffirmed mutual goals and commitments to expand projects and actions for 2023. “TJ-MA, one of the largest in the country, completed 209 years and, in the last biennium, H360 has the joy of sharing solid ties with the Justice of Maranhão”, he says. For Paulo Velten, “it is not possible to do more alone, but only with the indispensable presence of the organized civil society, such as H360”.
The judge received a gift from the Tereza brand, which sells the products of the social cooperatives supported by the institute, seeing it as a symbol of compliance with measures for decarceration, as well as guaranteeing justice, legal security and human dignity for people deprived of liberty.
During the trip, Patrícia Villela Marino also met with the women of the Cuxá Social Cooperative, at the São Luís Women’s Prison Unit (UPFEM). See some photos of the visit below:
